Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Friday reviewed the preparations ahead of BJP national president Amit Shah’s proposed visit next week. During the meeting all the district presidents of the party and office-bearers along with some MPs were present.
The Chief Minister during the meeting took stock of the tasks given to all the district presidents and general secretaries by national general secretary Ram Madhav during his last visit to the State.
“On the last occasion all the leaders were handed over particular tasks relating to expansion of party, inducting more members into it and strengthening booth level workers and ‘panna pramukhs’. These preparations are being done ahead of the next general election followed by the Assembly polls. In today’s meeting the tasks were reviewed,” said a senior leader present in the meeting.
Discussions about inactive members who had come joining the party by giving missed calls or other mediums also took place and respective district presidents were told to find out those and involve them with the party affairs again.
later in the day BJP Rajya Sabha MP Samir Oraon called on the CM to handover him over a memorandum about suspicious activities of some NGOs. “Reports about suspicious activities of some NGOs have come into light suggesting their involvement into illegal trade of infants and others like that. Role of Missionaries of Charity has come recently. Some others are indulging into anti-constitutional acts. The Government should order investigation into the activities of all such NGOs and trusts operating from Jharkhand for their involvement into illegal activities so that simple people of the State are not cheated mentally, socially and financially,” reads the memo of the MP handed over to the CM.
The CM on his part forwarded the letter to his Principal Secretary Sunil Kumar Barnwal with a direction to probe the matter by any competent agency. Also present on the occasion were MlA and BJP’s ST cell president Ram Kumar Pahan, party spokesperson TB Tubid and others.
