Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Monday paid floral tribute to Birsa Munda on the 115th death anniversary of the martyr, who is called as Bhagwan by the people of Jharkhand. Soren visited Birsa Munda’s mausoleum at Kokar and Birska chowk to reverence to the martyr.

Soren said, “I bow to the mother earth on behalf of the people of the State as the day bears a lot of significance and is important for the people of Jharkhand.”

The CM eulogized Birsa Munda for sacrifices made and said the aims and values for which Birsa Munda fought have become guiding force for people.

The tribal icon’s life is an inspiration to struggle for one’s rights, CM continued. Soren termed the martyr a great patriot and visionary with strong determination.

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha patriarch Shibu Soren also paid tributes to Birsa Munda.

Meanwhile, the JMM patriarch has reached Delhi and will take oath as the Member of Parliament today and will take part in the proceeding of lok Sabha while CM Hemant Soren is expected to return after the swearing-in ceremony. The Senior Soren has won from Dumka constituency and apparently bad health had kept him away from joining other MPs in the swearing-in ceremony.
