Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Friday paid homage to Nirmal Mahto on his 27th death anniversary. JMM supremo Shibu Soren also accompanied to the late JMM leader at his memorial in Uliyan, Kadma.
Several leaders cutting across party lines paid homage to slain JMM leader. The JMM observed the day as Martyr's day and paid floral tributes to the statue of the departed leader, who was gunned down on this day in 1987 in front of the Chamaria guest house at Bistupur area here. Earlier, the chief minister along with Shibu Soren paid floral tributes at the bust of the slain leader near Chemmury Guest House. Others who attended the function included former Jamshedpur MP Shailender Mahto, Suman Mahto, former state minister Dulal Bhuiyan.
