Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Tuesday ordered to dismiss Dr Roshan Khalkho, currently posted at Community Health Centre at Kolebira in Simdega, for attending his duty for the last two and half months. While hearing the complaints lodged by the people at Jan Samvaad Kendra during the monthly ‘Seedhi Baat’ programme, Das also directed the health department to form a task force to identify such doctors by making surprise visits and catch the doctors who have been practicing privately during duty hours.

“Discharge him immediately and also form a task force to catch such doctors doing private practice during duty hours after identifying them,” said the CM.  They have made it a practice in the rural areas, due to which people are not able to get benefits of proper health services, he added.

Simdega DC also informed the CM that Khalkho had not been seen in the Community Health Centre for the last two and half months after submitting a leave application for two days, but no action was taken against him by the Civil Surgeon even after a complaint was made against him.

Hearing another complaint of West Singhbhum related to black marketeering of food grains by Block Supply Officer Hatgamharia Satyadeo Manjhi in connivance with Marketing Officer and PDS dealers due to which people have not been provided ration for the last eight months, Das directed the officials to close PDS shops to check corruption.

“Just close down PDS shops and transfer the money directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries by which they could buy food grains as per their requirement from the market. It is the only way to check corruption in PDS,” said the CM. The system should be started from urban areas and may gradually be implemented in the rural areas later, he added.

The Chief Minister also directed Khunti DC Manish Ranjan to personally visit the house of beneficiary Bhagru Mahto, who had been running around the block office for the last three years, and ensure the old age pension was credited in his account.

“It is really a shame for all of us that people have to come here even to get their old age pension,” said the CM.  Das directed the DC to fix accountability for the same and ensure that stern action was taken against those responsible for it.

Hearing another case of having remarkably less number of children at Bhumchak Anganwari Kendra in Godda, Das directed the District Education Officer to immediately dismiss Angawari Sevika Sima Devi, not discharging her duties properly, and select some other women who can discharge her duties properly.

The CM also announced an ex-gratia of `1.5 lakh to the girl who had received burn serious injuries by a lantern while studying.

later, wishing everyone a Happy Durga Puja and Mohrrram, CM appealed everyone to move ahead as team making Jharkhand number one State in the Country, far ahead of Maharashtra and Gujarat. He also directed the SPs and DCs to ensure that no untoward incident takes place during the festive season.

“An effort must be made by all of us so that people get more sensitive government,” said the CM. Das, during the Jan Samvaad on Tuesday, heard a total of 20 complaints from different parts of the State.
