Chief Ministe Hemant Soren has given a message to the people to save themselves from malaria on World Malaria Day on Saturday. “Through our efforts we can contribute significantly in efficient management of malaria control programme and make our future safe from malaria. If there is a fever, immediately get a blood test done at the nearest health center. Malaria screening and treatment is available free of cost in all government hospitals, primary health centers and health sub-centers. For health advice, you can also call the helpline toll free number 104,” he said.
Some of the main symptoms of malaria are fever with cold, vomiting or feeling like vomiting, body spasms and headaches, dizziness, fever with sweating in a short time, fever coming back after some time.
“There are very simple ways to prevent this, use mosquito nets at bedtime. Malaria mosquitoes thrive in clean and stagnant water, so do not let water logging occur around the house.
Add pesticide kerosene oil or burnt engine oil to areas with large water logging. Keep the water tank and all the water storage vessels covered. Do not place such items on the roof of the house unnecessarily in which rain water is stored. One day of the week, dry the refrigerator, cooler, vase water and dry it,” he said in his message.
