Chief Minister Hemant Soren today led an all-party delegation to Governor Ramesh Bais regarding 1932 land records based locals policy and OBC reservation issue. The delegation requested the Governor through a memorandum to consider sending the proposals to the Central Government so that the Bills can take the form of Law in the State.
After meeting the Governor, talking to media persons, the CM said that all political parties except the BJP are with them regarding 1932 based Khatian and OBC reservation Bills. “The High Court has cancelled the employment policy. The policy that we had made in favour of the native-tribals here has been cancelled. I had already realized that some such forces would work to stop the rights of the tribal-natives of Jharkhand,” he said.
The CM said, “You will be surprised that except one of the 20 people who have lodged objections, all the others are from other states. People of other states are suffering. That's why we have passed the 1932 Khatiyan based policy and more OBC reservation from the Assembly. The Bills are now with the Governor. We have requested to put this bill in the 9th schedule, so that the future of the people of this State can be secured. Policies have been made many times before to give the youth of Jharkhand their rights and rights, but every time the High Court has cancelled the policies. This time we made such an effort, but this time the same thing happened.”
The UPA delegation met the Governor and demanded that both the Bills should be sent to the Central Government as soon as possible for their inclusion in the Ninth Schedule, so that the youth of Jharkhand and the tribal people can get their rights and entitlements, he added.
The CM further said that these things will not stop here. “It is our endeavour that you get your rights. More than 7 lakh children had applied under this employment policy. They are very disappointed. We are very serious about them. Some alternative methods are being worked out. They should not worry about the employment policy. Today, the delegation has met the Governor to maintain that there was no violation of the employment policy. During the meeting the Governor has assured that he is seriously considering both the bills,” said the CM.
