Extending good wishes to the people of State on Krishna Janmashtami, Chief Minister Hemant Soren today said that on this auspicious day, we are going to lay the foundation stone of three major road projects for the people of Ranchi. It has been resolved to get these roads constructed by the Road Construction Department within 20 months. With the cooperation of all of you in these schemes being launched from Sarna Akhara, we will try to complete it before the target time. The CM was addressing people at Sarna Sthal Maidan, Siramtoli, here on Friday at the foundation stone laying ceremony of four lane flyover/elevated road up to Sirmatoli Chowk-Rajendra Chowk-Mecon roundabout by the Road Construction Department and other schemes.
On this occasion, the CM laid the foundation stone for the construction of various roads of the Road Construction Department at a total cost of Rs.666.13 crore, under which a four-lane flyover/elevated ROB will be constructed at a total cost of Rs.339.69 crore of a total length of 2.34 kms from Sirmatoli Chowk to Rajendra Chowk to Mecon Roundabout. On the other hand, from Ranchi Ring Road (Newari Vikas Vidyalaya) to Buti More via Kokar Chowk, Kantatoli Chowk to Namkom R.O.B, a total distance of 15.214 kms four lane will be constructed, which will cost Rs 129.16750. Also, 5.30 km road from Argora Chowk to Kathalmore at a total cost of Rs 197.28 crore will also be widened and strengthened.
The CM said that one always has to face road jams while coming to Argora from Kathal More. Road widening will help the people to get rid of this problem. The CM said that due to the narrow roads coming inside Ranchi city, there is always a traffic jam. After the construction of these roads, the problem of traffic will be solved to a great extent. He said that at least land has been acquired for these schemes. Along with this, the government is also giving proper compensation to those whose land has been acquired. The construction of roads will benefit the whole city.
Soren said that the government works by making plans to make the State's transport system easier. Rules are made for your betterment. Don't think of government property as unclaimed; take care of them like your own property. He said that people tend to ignore the road rules in a hurry to take shortcuts, due to which many times they become victims of major accidents. Wherever some people throw garbage, we all have to improve our habits. We all have to work together in the spirit of cooperation to solve these problems.
The CM along with the officials inspected the construction work of four lane flyover/elevated road being built up to Sirmatoli Chowk-Rajendra Chowk-Mecon roundabout after the foundation stone laying programme.
