Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Monday inspected the 350 bed and oxygen-covered 50 bed Covid Ward in Multi-Storied Parking Building at RIMS and inaugurated the 100-bed Oxygenated Covid Ward at Urban Community Health Center (Risaldar Baba Hospital), Doranda. On this occasion, the CM said that in this hour of corona infection, there is a need for more oxygenated beds in hospitals. The State government is constantly trying to increase the oxygen supported beds.

“In big cities like Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad and Bokaro, the pressure of infected patients is high. Due to the high number of patients, the work of making Covid circuits has been done in Ranchi and East Singhbhum district to meet the shortage of oxygenated beds. Several cities in the surrounding districts have been added as Covid Corridors under the Covid Circuit. Due to the high pressure of infected patients in Ranchi-Jamshedpur etc, oxygen beds have been arranged for treatment in nearby cities, due to which, quick treatment of patients has become possible,” he said.

The CM said the work of preparing 100 oxygenated beds has been completed at Urban Community Health Center (Risaldar Baba Hospital) in Doranda today. Corona infected patients will start getting treatment in this hospital in a day or two. The CM said that 350 oxygen supported beds are also being prepared in the Multi-Storied Car Parking Building at RIMS. Treatment of infected patients will start here within two to four days. Similarly, an action plan is being prepared for Itki TB Sanatorium.

The Chief Minister said it is time to fight the infection together. “We will fight this battle with determination only then we will win. No one was aware that the infection would spread among the people at this pace. There is safety in alertness itself. I appeal to the people to strictly follow Health Safety Week. The safety of you and your family is in your hands, so follow the guidelines issued by the Government,” he said.

State Health Minister Banna Gupta, Development Commissioner Arun Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Rajiv Arun Ekka, Urban Development Secretary Vinay Kumar Choubey and other officials were present on the occasion.
