Chief Minister Raghubar Das along with Chief Justice Virender Singh laid the foundation stone of a new High Court building to be constructed near JSCA Stadium in Dhurwa amid protests by locals. Passing a strong message among the protesting group, the CM once again appealed to the villagers of HEC not to get carried away with a handful of misguiding leaders. The CM reiterated that he was ready for direct dialogue with the affected households to be done very soon in their villages itself.
“If anyone has any objection, one should come to the Government personally and enter into a direct dialogue with us,” said the CM. Very soon a delegate of the State Government will go to the displaced persons of HEC and talk to them directly, he assured.
Das once again said those playing with the law by politicising the issue will be dealt strictly. “It is the duty of everyone to think about why the new HC or Assembly buildings were not built in the last 14 years due to which all of us have to get face embarrassment before the country,” said the CM. He also appealed to the people of this State to cooperate in the construction of this temple of justice.
Das also added that that the protesters, who did not raise a single voice during the construction of JSCA Stadium, are now trying to do politics over the issue of displaced persons. Das also said that there was a need to take proper action against such politicians who are trying to misguide the poor villagers.
“It is the priority of the State Government to make benefits of development available with the last person sitting on the social strata,” he said.
Promising to complete the construction work within 28 months, Das also assured the villagers that the construction work for the new Jharkhand Assembly building will not be started until the displaced households are rehabilitated.
Chief Justice Virender Singh expressed gratitude to the CM for promising to complete the project within the stipulated time frame of another 28 months.
“I expect that the new High Court building remains pollution free and full of greenery around it and get developed into a center for justice so that it could be termed as the best premises among all High Courts in the country,” said the Chief Justice. All the cases pending for over five years in the lower courts across the state are being disposed of through special drives, added the Chief Justice. “The day, when final disposal of the cases will be done within two years, is not very far away,” assured the Chief Justice.
Despite heavy deployment of police force in and around the inauguration site, a group of displaced households under the leadership of Bandhan Tigga tried to enter the construction site, but were stopped at the entry point. The group of displaced persons also showed black flags to CM while he was going back after the inaugural programme.
