On the eve of 21st Foundation Day of Jharkhand, Chief Hemant Soren participated in the decoration parade of the Jharkhand Police on JAP ground and honoured 57 police officials and jawans for their exemplary courage and services.
Speaking on this occasion Chief Minister said his Government is committed to bringing back such youths in the mainstream of society who have lost their way. He was referring to Left Wing Extremist rebels trying to recruit youths by misguiding them.
He praised the role of the Jharkhand Police in controlling red wing extremism, organised crime and other forms of crimes in Jharkhand.
“Jawans and officials of Jharkhand Police deserve praise since working in tough terrain like Jharkhand is really very difficult. They have shown a high level of motivation while facing challenges,” the CM said.
Family members of such jawans and officials were invited who sacrificed their life in the line of duty. The CM also paid tribute to such brave cops and officials who set an example of bravery.
The CM added Jharkhand witnessed many ups and downs in the last 20 years and the State achieved many achievements and there are several other things that need more effort.
The Chief Minister made a fresh appeal to such youths to relinquish weapons and join the mainstream of the society who were allured by extremism. He said society and the Government welcome them back.
Talking about the JAP ground, Soren said plans will be soon rolled out for the beautification and development of this ground. He announced the construction of a blacktop road on the JPA ground.
Out of 57 cops and officials, one of the officials was awarded Vishisht Sewa Padak. 27 were given the CM bravery medal and 29 were given the best service award.
The CM on this occasion inspected the parade of Jharkhand Armed Police, India Reserve Battalion and Jharkhand Police Academy. Other than CM, DGP Neeraj Sinha, DG Ajay Kumar Singh and other officials were present.
