Chief Minister Hemant Soren has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to increase Central Government’s share in the Light House Project, which was inaugurated in six cities of country including Ranchi on January 01. The CM, during the inauguration congratulated the PM on the occasion of New Year and strating the housing project being built with modern technology and innovative processes.

The CM expressed hope that the Prime Minister has started this scheme to accelerate the speed of housing construction with the vision and foresight that the poor-labourers and homeless people living in cities will benefit.

The CM said that 1008 houses are to be built under the Light House Project in Ranchi. “Beneficiaries also have to share the financial burden with the Central government and State government in this project. But, Jharkhand is a backward state. There is a large population of poor and labourers here. Their income is less. In such a situation, it is not very easy for the poor-labourers to give the share that has been fixed in the scheme. Seeing the economic condition of the poor and labourers, I urge the Prime Minister to increase the Central government's share in this scheme, so that they do not have to bear much economic burden,” he said.

The Chief Minister said that a large number of laborers and poor people from rural areas in Jharkhand move to cities to work. In these, many laborers travel from village to city every day, then live in many cities. They do not have accommodation. Therefore, the government should prepare an action plan to provide housing to the labourers and the poor coming from rural areas for employment in the cities, so that they can be helped.

Soren said that the State government is working with the goal of providing housing to all. He said that the government is running many schemes to provide housing to the poor and needy. Till now, the key of housing has been given to millions of homeless and poor and construction work of many houses is going on. The CM said that the government is paying special attention to the implementation of housing-related schemes in rural areas as well as cities. He said that electricity-water and gas connections are also being provided by the government in the houses allotted to the beneficiaries.

On this occasion, MP Sanjay Seth, MLA Naveen Jaiswal, Deputy Mayor of Ranchi Municipal Corporation Sanjeev Vijayvargiya, Secretary, Urban Development and Housing Department Vinay Kumar Choubey, Director of State Urban Development Agency Amit Kumar and Director of Urban Administration Directorate Vijaya Jadhav was present.
