CM flags off air-conditioned luxury buses in Jharkhand

Published on:

The State Government at the occasion of state Foundation Day, rolled out super luxury air conditioned bus service which will initially ply on selected routes to be extended further all across the state. Chief Minister Raghubar Das handed over road permits to run those buses in the specified routes on the roads of Jharkhand from November 20.

“With a sitting capacity for 41 passengers in it, these buses have all modern facilities like cooling as well as warming system in it with an added advantage that each of them will be provided mineral water along with a Newspaper to make journey easy for them,” said Director of Pammi Travels Assad Parvez. Making it easier to the passengers on line booking could also be done for those buses, he said.

The scheme known as ‘Jharkhand Drutgami Vatanukulit Deluxe Bus Seva’ was designed by Transport Commissioner Ratan Kumar, where the department intends to run super-luxury AC buses from Ranchi to all district headquarters. Gradually, the service will be extended further between some other important districts inside the state.

Praising the state government for taking such a move, Parvez believed that introduction of such buses on the roads of Ranchi will create a revolution in the field of public transport.

Further counting on the benefits of running such buses on the roads of Jharkhand, Parvez added that these buses will run non-stop between their destinations with all modern facilities in it. Those buses will be fully operated by the transporters from the government bus stands at their own cost and the government will only be providing permit to them.

“Despite our request to get some repair work done in existing bus stands was turned down by the Government, we will be making all efforts to provide all possible modern facilities to the people of this state,” said Parvez.

Operator of Natraj Bus Service Abhishek Kumar on the other hand, said that currently a total of 27 buses will ply on Ranchi-Hazaribagh-Giridih and Ranchi-Jamshedpur route which will further be extended to other routes like Ranchi-Dhanbad, Ranchi-Chaibasa and Ranchi-Deoghar in the second phase.

“Besides air conditioning, these buses will also ensure hassle free journey without any stoppage between the two destinations,” said Kumar. As they are equipped with GPS and CCTV, Wi-Fi in all these buses may be introduced in these buses during the next phase, he said.

Kumar has presently purchased 8 buses costing Rs 45 lakh each and expected that they will get similar cooperation from the state government in future also.

“As it is a government run programme, the state government has assured that stringent action will be taken against those who try to create disturbances in running these buses,” said Kumar. If we keep on receiving such support from the state government, we might go for another lot of buses in future, depending on the success rate of these buses in this phase, he added.
