CM fiat to hold monthly Janta Darbar at every block

Chief Minister has directed officials to organise Janta Darbar every month at all the 264 blocks in the State from July. The direction has come looking at hardship faced by the common people in getting their rights and important documents.

Chairing the important meeting of the 20-point programme implementation committee on Wednesday the Chief Minister also said to designate a senior official to monitor these things.

“Still people are facing great deal of difficulty in getting their ration cards, old age pensions, widow pensions, caste certificates and benefits of other Governmental schemes. This is unacceptable. Now hold Janta Darbar at all the block every month where block level officials like BDO, CO and others would remain present to solve the issues coming. A senior officer would visit there to oversee that. This should be done on a mission mode by making calendar from July,” directed the CM.

During the 4th meeting of the committee Raghubar Das was particular about facilities to be given to the common people and stressed over direct delivery to the targeted class. He also told the officials present to implement the right to services act in letter and spirit with outcome driven approach.

“The Committee is a successful forum where suggestions for development of the State come from every quarter and the Government tries its level best to implement it. Our Government has tried to establish good governance with transparency and pro-development approach all over the State. That is why the State is progressing in every field,” said Das.

During the meeting a decision to conduct massive plantation drive along prominent rivers from July 2 cross the State was also taken where local MPs, MlAs, officer bearers of the committee and people representatives would remain present. The CM also called on common people to take part prominently into the drive. Also, a decision to install street lights on Ranchi-Tamar road, Ranchi-Dhanbad road and Deoghar to Basukidham road under social corporate responsibility was taken. He at the same time fixed 30 days time for providing NOC about PSUs land for building toilets, houses under PMAY and other public works.

“Second phase of the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan would come to an end on August 15 this year in which seven flagship schemes of the Government are to be completed in 6512 villages. Also Adivasi Januthhan Abhiyan would commence on Hul Day on June 30 in which villages having more than 50 per cent tribal population would be covered completely with flagship schemes,” said the CM.

He drove home his point by quoting the ‘yojna banao abhiyan’ started by his Government in empowering villages and formation of gram vikas samities over there. The CM also promised to provide 50000 more jobs within 2-3 months in addition to about one lakh jobs already provided.

Deputy Chairman of the committee Rakesh Prasad underlined the coordination achieved among the State, district and block level committees in implementing developmental schemes. Also present in the meeting were Rajya Sabha MP Mahesh Poddar who suggested for longer licenses given to the businessmen and traders.

Ministers louis Marandi, Randhir Singh, several MPs, Chief Secretary Sudhir Tripathi, Development Commissioner DK Tiwari, several departmental heads and Secretaries were present in the meeting.
