Chief Minister Raghubar Das today asked Deputy Commissioners of all 24 districts of the State to ensure that the poor and needy families get houses under different schemes run by Centre and the State at the earliest.
The CM, while talking to DCs through Video Conferencing, said on Thursday to organise camps for the purpose and ensure that no one is devoid of a house in the State at any cost.
The CM said that the Government is working determinedly to provide housing to poor and homeless people.
“This is the reason that the Deputy Commissioners of all the Districts have been empowered under the Ambedkar Awas Yojana to allot 250-250 houses to the leftover poor at their discretion. If such cases are more, then the districts, which have DMFT funds or the amount of aspirational districts, should also provide housing to the homeless. In this, give priority to widows, OBCs, people of primitive tribal community,” he said.
Das also asked the DCs to ensure that there should be toilet in every house.
“Send the approval list to the Chief Minister's Office by October 28. The houses are to be allotted under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Yojana, Birsa Awas Yojana and Ved Vyas Yojana. Ensure that the first installment is credited in the accounts of beneficiaries before Chhath,” he said.
The CM said that to speed up the work, the cooperation of Sakhi Mandal, Rani Mistry etc can be taken.
