Chief Minister Raghubar Das has strictly said to officials that corruption at any level wouldn't be tolerated at any cost. Reviewing development plans being run in the State, he asked officials in the meeting that corruption was not possible without officials' nexus and it had to go. The CM was holding review meeting with land Acquisition officers, land Reform officers, Deputy Collectors, BDOs, COs and others.

“Complaints related to registration of same piece of land again and again keep popping up in different parts of the State. This is not at all possible without involvement of officials. Don't do any wrongful activity with the land of any Scheduled Tribes or Adivasis or with any poor, for that matter, because a curse of the poor never goes unheard,” the CM said.

Das also said that corruption would be dealt with degree of strictness and no matter whatsoever hierarchy the official would possess, it would have to pay if found corrupt. "The salary of officials comes from hard-earned money of the poor; hence (the officials) must show sensitiveness toward common people. You are not the ruler; don't even imagine yourself in that way. You are servant, behave like a servant," he added.

Pointing out issues of flight of people in Jharkhand due to unemployment and other reasons, the CM directed officials to do whatever it took to stop it. “We need more and more industries and other ways to stop flight of the people. We are targeting to provide jobs to our people here in state itself with a target to stop flight completely in three years. We have to bring our youth back. So, furnish all application coming through single window promptly,” directed the CM.

The meeting was also attended by land and Revenue Department Minister Amar Kumar Bauri, Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma, Development Commissioner Amit Khare and Secretary KK Son. Das said that the State was lacking surveyors. He directed officials to give training to educated rural youths to become surveyors. He said that mobile tablets would be provided to all COs by November 15 to expedite development plans. He also said that achievements would be reviewed during Samvad meet after six months and performers would be awarded.

In a separate event on the day, the CM said that Sarna enjoyed a different culture and recognition of its own which would be preserved at any cost. “A handful of people are doing politics. But they never did anything for tribal society,” said the CM. He also assured that prevailing laws against evangelism would be followed strictly.
