Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Tuesday directed all SPs to take action against the officer in charge of the police station if construction work continues despite prohibitory orders are issued in relation to a particular land. The Chief Minister was holding the Seedhi Baat programme at Project Building on Tuesday. A total of 18 cases were heard personally by the CM by the applicants.
A matter from Bokaro where Anita Devi had alleged that one lal Babu Yadav had captured her land and had also started construction work on it. “Despite having prohibitory orders issued on the land, he has started construction work over the land and the police are not taking action against him,” pleaded Anita Devi. Das ordered SP Bokaro YS Ramesh to ensure that no construction work was done over the land. “If the construction work was being continued despite imposition of Section 144 over the land, action must be taken against the officer charge of the concerned police station,” said the CM.
Another applicant from Chatra Umesh Singh alleged that transformer has not been installed in his village Karmatand after it was burnt 2 years back. The officials of Electricity department informed CM that there were some glitches in the process including the obstruction caused by harsh weather conditions in the last few weeks but assured that the transformer will be reinstated by next month.
Singh, however, seem to be a bit skeptical about the assurance given by officials of Electricity Department on the backdrop that it could not be addressed in the last two years.
“I really doubt that it would be done by next month as if it could not be done in the last two years how could it be done in the next few months,” said Singh. last time also CM had said that it would be done within 10 days but nothing was done in this regard, he added.
Singh also alleged that he was demanded levy by TPC members and was being threatened to face dire consequences if he does not pay the remaining amount.
“Despite the fact that I have already paid Rs 30,000 cash to the TPC as levy, they have been threatening me of my life for remaining Rs 10,000. When I complained with the police the officer in charge demanded Rs 5000 to me saying that he will tell the person not to disturb me,” said Singh. He said that he has lost all hopes in Police, added Singh.
Sanjeev Toppo of Mandar Block in Ranchi pleaded that the police has failed to trace out his brother Rahul Toppo who was allegedly kidnapped by Etwa Oraon of the same village. Toppo said that Oraon now, was on bail and was roaming scott- free while the police was yet to trace out since December 27, 2014.
“Etwa Oraon had taken my brother out to Ranchi in the name of site seeing but never returned back. later Oran called us from Dumka that my brother had gone missing. When we threatened him to lodge a complaint against him by brother called up within half an hour that he was fine and will return back soon, but he never returned back,” said Toppo.
The CM immediately ordered to provide him advocate so that they can properly fight the case in the court and also asked Ranchi SP to expedite the investigations to trace out his brother.
