CM Das' land loot barb against Sorens

BJP and the Opposition over recent developments on land acquisition to the next level, Chief Minister Raghubar Das charged leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Hemant Soren with land grabbing sprees during his tenure.

The CM in an attempt to caution people from misleading political outrages of these kind being played out in the name of the amendments made into the land Acquisition Act- 2013, also saw a conspiracy to bring ‘old days of corruption back into the State’.

“Those who are opposing the land amendments are anti-development. Those leaders have always worked to fill their coffers in the name of tribals. Soren family has violated provisions of the CNT-SPT Act everywhere in the State. As many as six land registries were done to the family members of Hemant Soren in a single day. It is the Soren family that looted Jharkhand the most,” said the Chief Minister on Wednesday addressing farmers in a ‘Krishi Chaupal’ organised at Gagi village of Kanke.

He also referred to newly developed bonhomie of the parties in the Opposition, mainly among JMM, Congress and RJD and told the listeners to recall the period under Madhu Koda at the helm. “Earlier, a gang of brokers was at work in the State before this Government came to power. Independent Madhu Koda was made Chief Minister by JMM, Congress and RJD which looted the State. Once again, these ‘ghotala parties’ are coming together. The alliance formation is just a conspiracy to loot Jharkhand once again,” added the CM.

Defending the changes made through the land Bill, the CM termed them ‘pro-development’ and in the wellbeing of the tribal, poor and villagers. “You all should be beware of those who mislead. land is required for building and widening roads, canals, power sub-stations, grids, schools. But the Opposition does not worry about all this. They just want to do petty politicking in the name of tribals. You need to be alert from such anti-development forces who do not want you and your children to become developed,” said he, underlining the role of development in overcoming all the woes.

The CM, on the occasion, also suggested the villagers to mitigate role of middlemen from their day to day life as the Government was working in the most transparent manner in executing all the schemes for the benefits of targeted beneficiaries. “Compare our three and half years of governance with the previous regimes and you would see the difference. Our Government is working for all sections with the mantra of ‘Sabka Sath-Sabka Vikas’, irrespective of caste, creed and religion and would continue to do that,” said the CM, referring to some of the flagship schemes like PMAY, Ujjwala and Saubhagya.
