Chief Minister Raghubar Das said on the occasion of 71st Independence Day celebrations at Morhabadi Grounds on Tuesday that the Government was committed to overall development of the State.

After hoisting the Tri-colour, he counted almost all the development related programmes completed, under implementation and to be implemented, primarily post Independence Day last year and said that he visualised such a state which aimed at changing life of common men and where everyone got equal opportunity to grow and prosper.

At the same time, Governor Droupadi Murmu said after hoisting Tri-colour in Dumka on Tuesday that she wanted the government to become more transparent so that people could sense changes being brought to them through governance more clearly. Government officials, leaders and others celebrated Independence day at district headquarters, schools, colleges, public enterprises’ offices and other places with utmost zeal across the State.

Murmu did mention plans being and to be implemented by the government in coming days for citizens. She, however, stressed upon bringing smile to the people, as that was the only indicator of real growth. “The State is moving ahead on the path of development and the government is trying its best to take everyone together on that path. However, it is important for the administration to become more active and efficient so that benefits of welfare plans reach to everyone. Bringing smile to the last man would be the only indicator of victory of democracy,” she said.

Das recalled those freedom fighters and great men because of whom, we, the people were able to breathe in free air. “As Swaraj requires sacrifice, Suraaj also can’t be accumulated without sacrifice, commitment and discipline. First time, a stable government has come in the state and doing its work sincerely and now, the people should also get involved in the work,” said the CM.

“Jharkhand has immense potential of industrial development. The government has made good policies to boost up industry in Jharkhand. Handicraft, IT, handloom, auto mobile, cement, electric, rubber, khadi, and textile are focus areas. Women are one of the main axles of development in the state. The development of the state is linked with their development. It is the only state where the govt. is giving a gas oven free of cost along with gas cylinder. Moreover, the government has given the women opportunity to register a property up to 50 lakh at token amount of Rupee one only,” said the CM.
