There will be no special arrangements for VIPs intending to offer their offering in Baidyanath Temple in Deoghar till the term of Shravani Mela, said Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Wednesday. He instructed newly-appointed Deoghar DC to stop issuing VIP passes with immediate effect.

“local administration should endeavour to arrange to all facilities for the visiting kanwariyas with the help of local populace,” Das further instructed.

He ordered Deoghar DC to invite members of civil society and other institutions to regulate proper management and help the pilgrims coming to Deoghar during the Shravani Mela.

Any entry fee exacted by the Deoghar Municipal Corporation on vehicles should be banned to ensure smooth flow of traffic in the city. Any revenue deficit incurred by the urban body will be covered by the State Government.
