CM appeals Santhal youth to change lives to next gen

Chief Minister Raghubar Das today appealed to the youth of Santhal Pargana to change lives of the coming generations and give them better living standards. “The kind of life you have lived till now, do you want the coming generations to lead the same life? Do not impose this life on them. Change it. You take one step and the State government will take four steps with you. Raghubar Das has pledged to develop the region,” said the CM at an election rally in Shikaripara on Tuesday.

“In the leadership of PM Narendra Modi Santhali Olchiki script is being promoted. Luguburu has been given State Fair status. The government is working for keeping the culture of Santhal Pargana intact and develop the region. I appeal to the people of the area to unveil the evil intentions of anti-development forces,” he added.

Taking a dig at the JMM and Opposition parties the CM asked they should tell people where have the BJP snatched land of the tribal people. “Where is CNT/SPT Act violated by Raghubar Das? I am also an MLA since 1995 and now discharging my duties as the Chief Minister. Anybody should tell if I have bought even an inch of land violating CNT/SPT Act,” he added.

“This Soren family is not from Santhal Pargana, but they are residents of Gola under Bokaro district. However, they violated the laws while being in power and bought land worth crores illegally. The JMM that claims to be well-wisher of Santhal residents actually stopped development in the area and worked for own development. At the time of election the JMM remembers ‘Jal, Jungle Jamin’ (Water, Jungle and Land). They mislead people by spreading rumours. This has been happening for the last 40 years and Santhal brothers get cheated every time,” said Das.

The CM said that JMM and Congress indulge in dynastic politics. “They have worked for years and years just for development of one family. This is limited to father, son, daughter and daughter in law only. Those who indulge in dynastic politics do not have agenda of country’s development. The Gandhi family considers the country its property and the JMM considers Jharkhand its property,” he said.

“I am son of a labourer. I have seen poverty, but these people doing dynastic politics will not understand this. They are baffled with the fact that a tea seller’s son is the Prime Minister of the country and engaged in development. It is, therefore, the Opposition is abusing him,” said Das.
