Chief Minister Raghubar Das announced on Sunday that Tribal festival will be celebrated every year from the next year so that the age old ‘mandar’ culture of the State could remain alive. Das while speaking during a programme organised to mark Kartik Oraon anniversary at Dhurwa in Ranchi, also added that the culture of this state was so strong that no one could break it.

“We will make the dreams of Kartik Oraon true in this State and try to build an identical, self sufficient and prosper state,” said the CM. Tribal brothers and sisters are now becoming active participants in development of this state and are eager to fly high on the path of development, he added.

The CM further added that the opposition parties first made this State as a land of ravages not they want to make it a land of deception, which, he will never let happen.

“We give special preference to the worship of nature and you people also do the same. We offer ‘belpatra’ to our Gods, they too have living animals as their vehicle. Hence, both Sarna and Sadaan have Sanatan as their origins,” he added.

CM further added that people first grabbed the land of poor tribals by taking commissions, which was put to an end by his government by putting a ban on it by closing the SAR Court.

“Due to lack of proper definition of domicile of a person, children of tribals were not getting jobs. My government also identified vacancies in the Scheduled areas and people started getting jobs over there also. We also simplified CNT and SPT acts from which only ‘rayyats’ will get benefitted and not others,” said the CM.  Earlier, only agriculture could be done on the land of the tribals, but with simplification in the Acts, they can also do business on their lands, he added.

“After simplification of CNT and SPT, they can now also do business on their land along with agricultural activities,” said the CM.

CM also added that as many as 257 substations was also to be made for the electrification of 30 lakh remaining homes out of a total of 68 lakh households. Shouldn’t it be constructed, asked the CM.

Kartik Oraon had a dream of making the society educated for which the government was making all efforts to bring electricity so that people can get educated, said the CM.

“Some people want to put hurdles on the way of development which I will not let it happen,” CM added. “I am a common man and I have seen poverty. I have also been a labourer and will try to become no. 1 labourer of this State,” he said.
