Congress Legislature Party leader Pradeep Yadav today drew the attention of the government regarding the money of investors stuck in Sahara India. He told that about 10 lakh families of the state had invested billions of rupees in Sahara India decades ago, but despite the order of the Supreme Court, they have not got their money back, due to which the common people are very upset.

The state government expressed its seriousness on the issue and stated that as per the information received from SEBI, as per the order of the Supreme Court dated 29 March 2023, an amount of Rs 5,000 crore was transferred from the Sahara-SEBI refund account to the account of the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS) on 19 May 2023.

The Jharkhand government has repeatedly requested the CRCS Department of the Government of India to get the money of the investors of Jharkhand deposited in various co-operative societies of the Sahara Group refunded as soon as possible.

The government clarified that the deposit schemes run by the Sahara family are regulated, and they are regulated by the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS) and other regulatory bodies of the Government of India.
