Involvement of Ranchi youth in Patna serial blasts has shocked Muslim clerics to the core forcing the religious figures to shed their inhibition and join the community members’ in their fight to save their youths and country from terrorism. The clerics have decided to use the occasion of Jumma to spread the message among the community members.
“People listen with devotion and imbibe what is said after jumma namaz,” said Maulana Qutubuddin Rizvi adding “we will ask the community members that they should not let firkaparasti take root and address the root cause of the problem.”
The clerics however seemed united on the role of the investigating agencies and rued lack of transparency in the investigation process. “Police must take local people in confidence before conducting raids in a locality,” added Rizvi.
Stressing on the need to share information with the intelligence agencies clerics requested the community members to inform suspicious activities of their ward to the Police. They deem it to be a step necessary to save the community from embarrassment in future.
“We have urged from our community people to immediately inform the administration if they find any suspect in their locality. Moreover, different committees will be formed to spread awareness among the society,” said Asgar Misbahi.
Clerics sought to denouncing terrorism and delinked it with religion besides stressing on “social reforms” in the community as a step towards bringing back their youth from the evil clutches of terrorism.
According to city’s Muslim clerics Islam basic purpose behind coming into existence was to spread peace and harmony within the society and it never teaches violence.
Maulana at Zaffaria Maszid Tahejbul Husain showing his grief over the scenario said, “It was a very shameful act and to stop repetition of such incidents again in the near future we are organizing general meeting in different parts of the city. In the gathering after namaz we will appeal the members to play active role in bringing down this monster.”
Many clerics feel that financial crunch and unemployment among the youth apart from the opaque investigation process is the major reason behind their youths’ inclination towards terrorist activities.
“Youths should not be harassed unnecessarily in the name of investigation. There is lobby behind our youths that is luring youths for their benefit,” maintained Maulana Talaha.
Interestingly, clerics also proposed the idea of sharing the burden of helping their youths in changing their course and shun the path of violence. “We must take responsibility of our youths and if they chose the path of violence then we should help the authorities to bring such people to book,” added Mualana Tahzibul Hasan.
Meanwhile, community members have also met government officials seeking help from them in generating employment opportunities within the state so that the youths can be saved from people who take advantage of their vulnerability.
Haj committee members Qutubuddin Rizvi said, “We believe that Government is equally responsible for this. Students spends large sum of money in getting professional degrees and return empty handed. It is the need of the hour to generate new employment avenues for the students.”
