A massive cleanliness survey drive is going on in entire country in this month. The Government of India has listed more than 500 towns of the country having population of more than 1 lakhs for this cleanliness survey. The special survey team will be in Hazaribagh from January 23 to 25 and on the basis of the points given by the team members the towns will be ranked on the bench mark of cleanliness.

Hazaribagh Municipal Corporation is preparing for this special survey drive since last more than 1 month. During this drive the team members will interact with the citizens of the town and on the basis of reactions and suggestions of citizens they will award 30% marks. 70% marks is allotted on the availability of equipments and management of man power engaged in cleanliness drive of the town.

The government of India has launched a cleanliness app for the purpose of survey and yesterday was the last date for getting that app downloaded in the android mobile phones of the denizens. In Hazaribagh more than 600 persons downloaded this app in their mobiles and thus now the town is entitled to get 35 points.

Mayor Anjali Kumari said that during survey the team members will ask 6 questions and if the citizen’s answer will be “yes” the town can get maximum 430 points. She informed that Hazaribagh is ready to get maximum points in the heads “day to day cleanliness practice, arrangement of toilets at public places, being declared open defecation free, door to door collection of garbage and cleanliness service through the mobile app”.

The city lacks garbage disposal unit but soon we will get it. Recently we have started collection and management of solid and liquid garbage in separate dustbins in ward no. 10 of the city. We are hopeful that Hazaribagh will get more than 50-60% marks out of maximum 2000 in the survey going to be held in the last week of January, added Mayor Anjali Kumari.
