The schools in State reopened after nearly 1.5 years, as they were shut down in March 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The schools were reopened briefly but were shut down once again due to the second wave of the pandemic.
Classes at Zila School resumed today. Teachers at Zila School claimed that during the pandemic period online studies were provided to students, but there is no comparison with classroom teaching. The teacher also said that as school is reopening after a gap of one and half year their focus will be timely completion of syllabus. Special attention will be given on clearing doubts of students as in online teaching students don’t get a chance to clear their doubts.
The students too were excited to reach school after one and half years. Kumar Vikrant, a Class IX student at Zila School said, “As we are coming to school after one and half years, meeting friends, teachers and moving around school gives us different feelings.” The student welcomed the state government decision to reopen schools as Covid cases are declining day by day.
At schools, seating arrangement of classrooms was changed to ensure social distancing among students. In a class there were sitting arrangements for only 30 students. All the students and staff members were asked to wear a mask at all times when they are on school premises.
Also students’ hands were sanitized before entering the schools. As per State Government directive the classes resumed for only four hours minus morning prayers and lunch recess. The students were asked not to bring lunch boxes.
As per the State Government directive, all educational institutions will need to ensure proper sanitisation of classrooms and other areas, attendance to schools is not compulsory and teachers taking classes should have both doses of vaccines.
