A16-year-old class IX student Shardha Suman of Crescent Public School, Bokaro committed suicide at her sector VIII C home on Monday night.
The family members of the student, who belonged to sector VIII C, Qr no 2259 said that she took the extreme step due to "pressure" of examination.
Her parents were sleeping in other room of the house and in early morning they found the door locked from inside. “We broke open the door and found her hanging from a ceiling fan.
She was rushed to BGH Hospital where she was declared dead, said her father Janmejai Prasad a Government school teacher.
A police team scanned the house but could not find any suicide note from the spot.
The family said that the student was under pressure due to studies, but didn't elaborate further. They are now seeking legal advice to explore further course of action.
A police official said that the family has not filed any written complaint so far. “The body has been sent for a post-mortem and reports are awaited. We will investigate the matter once a complaint is filed,” an officer said.
