Finance cum Food and Civil Supplies Minister Dr. Rameshwar Oraon on Saturday announced that soon schools from Class I to VIII would also open in the State.
He said schools have opened in the neighbouring State of Bihar and now there is no reason to see that schools should not be opened in Jharkhand also. He said that the final decision in this regard would be taken in the meeting of the State Disaster Management Authority to be chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren.
The Minister was speaking at a felicitation ceremony of private school teachers, which was organised for the first time after creation of the State. During the programme as many as 700 teachers were honoured.
Finance-cum-Food and Civic Supplies Minister, Private School and Children Welfare Association’s (Paswa’s) National President Shamail Ahmed and Paswa representatives from 10 states attended the teacher honour ceremony organised by Paswa and NSS Ranchi University. State President of Paswa Alok Kumar Dubey, Vice President Lal Kishore Nath Shahdeo and General Secretary Dr Rajesh Gupta Chhotu, along with party workers and teachers were present on the occasion.
As distinguished guests Paswa Odisha chairperson Chidatamka Khutua, Delhi’s Paswa General Secretary Priyanka Verma, West Bengal President Masuda Yashmin, besides Tamil Nadu Chairman Belal Nutter, Uttar Pradesh Chairman Poonam Verma, Rajasthan General Secretary Rehan Khan were also present as special guests. Dr MK Sinha, Director and Principal of DAV Group was also honoured with a shawl at
the function.
The operator of the private school and the teachers were also assured by the Minister that necessary relaxation will be given in the land related obligation to give recognition to
the schools.
On getting information about the difficulties being faced in giving grant to the Madrasa, it came to know that due to the land-related constraints, that madrasas are not getting Government assistance. Oraon said he will try to find a way out by talking to the Secretary also.
Praising the teachers of private schools, Oraon said even during the corona period, the facility of education was provided to the children by the private schools through online education and now the teachers of private schools want that the schools should run as before, but till now no government teacher or representative has demanded that the schools should be run as before.
The reason for this is only one that the Government teachers get their salary on time and it is difficult to assess the amount of education they provide to the children.
On this occasion, Paswa National President Shamail Ahmed said today the credibility of private schools has increased in such a way that even the poorest of the poor want to send their child to private school for education.
He said that free education, lunch, book, copy, pencil and other facilities are also provided in Government schools.
Despite this, the vegetable seller and the person running the cart also wants his child to study in a private school so that he can lead a better life by reading and writing.
He said in Government schools, if 100 children go to study at 9 in the morning, then only 5-7 children are left till 3 pm, but in private schools if 100 children reach for studies in the morning, then in the afternoon at 3, only 100 children go out after the classes end.
During this, the parents of poor children, who sell vegetables or run a handcart, are busy with their work to earn their livelihood and take their children back safely after reaching school during the holidays. Because of this belief, today instead of government schools, they want to teach their children in private schools.
