CJVM to start last leg of Nyay Yatra

In order to drive home its point against alleged injustice done to the party the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) has called for another round of Nyay Yatra starting from June 25. JVM supremo Babulal Marandi would lead the consultation drive, which has reached its fifth round and would focus in Kolhan region. The party has finalised the programme for the three day yatra which would commence on June 25 from Jamshedpur (rural) and continue at Chaibasa on June 27 while coming to an end on June 28 at Jamshedpur city.

“During the three-day nyay yatra the party would highlight and make people understand the uses of money and muscle power in order to derail the very process of democracy in Jharkhand. The Government has shamelessly used unethical means and broken away six MlAs of the party that has reduced set democratic principles at a laughing stock,” said party leader Pradeep Yadav.

The agitation the party had started with defection of six of its MlAs from the JVM to the BJP just about a month after the Assembly polls that had restricted the ruling party five short from majority of its own in the House. Two of the members went on becoming Ministers in the BJP-led Government. Marandi during his four previous rounds of the yatra had made door to door consultations taking along the plea before the people against its plight.

This apart, the yatra would also highlight incomplete domicile policy process which is hanging fire despite assurances from the Government. The party is against making any appointment without framing the domicile policy and alleges that it would allow entry of outsiders into Government job in the State.

“We would also oppose and convince people against anti-poor and draconian land acquisition act which is being brought by the BJP-led Center. There are several other decisions the Government is taking that would go against the interests of common man. These issues would be raised with intensity during the nyay yatra,” said Yadav.

The party, while opposing the policies had recently staged a sit-in before the Raj Bhawan and tried to take all the Opposition parties under one single banner. Though, the effort failed in uniting major political outfits of the State.
