Civil surgeon Palamu Dr John F Kennedy was arrested by the anti corruption bureau Palamu on Friday. Kennedy was caught red handed accepting Rs 50,000 in cash from Golden Kumar at his residence in Daltonganj.
The anti corruption bureau Palamu has booked him under section 7(a) PC (amendment) act 2018.
A press note issued by the ACB Palamu read Golden Kumar of Aurangabad Bihar is the complainant of the case who had alleged that Dr Kennedy demanded 1,00,000 rupees for clearing his bill worth only rupees 1,47,400 rupees drawn for conducting family planning operations in the government hospitals allotted to him under an MOU reached between Golden Kumar's Russion Health Care Pvt Ltd and Palamu zila Swasthya Samiti under Jharkhand clinical outreach team (CoT) on 6.5. 2022.
The ACB Palamu reiterated it found the complaint of Golden Kumar true and accordingly it registered a case under section 7(a) PC (amendment) act 2018 on 29.9.2022 against the civil surgeon Dr Kennedy and today 30.9.2022 the raiding team of the ACB Palamu caught him red handed accepting bribe worth 50,000 rupees from Kumar.
Wife of Dr Kennedy, Neelu Mishra a senior BJP leader said her husband has been made a victim of a larger conspiracy by people who wanted to tarnish his image and also to dislodge him from the post of the civil surgeon Palamu.
