A 45-year-old civil contractor was murdered by a gang of five assailants inside an under-constructed apartment building at Adityapur. The victim was identified as Panchu Gopal Mondal, a resident of Mahesh Danga village at Maimari in Bardhaman district of Bengal.
Mandal was found in a pool of blood on the first floor where he used to sleep. The night guard, Jai Raj, who was on duty in the night, has in a statement to the police said that a group of five persons came to the site and attacked him.
The incident was reported to the police by the management of the builder, Parto Infrastructure ltd, leading them to recover the body and send it to the MGM Medical College mortuary for post-mortem. Sub-divisional police officer (SDPO), Seraikela, V Raman said it to be a case of murder, but could not say anything about the motif.
