After more than five months restaurants and eating joints have finally opened their doors once again to welcome foodies.
Complete with thermal screening and sanitation as per the district administration norms, the eating joints started operations from September 1. With far and fewer tables being occupied as only 50 per cent of the occupancy is allowed at the moment, customers will also be greeted by the staff members wearing face shields, masks and gloves.
To ensure minimal physical contact patrons will also experience a new tech savvy system that has been put in place for placing orders. “Presently we have opened the restaurant with an occupancy of only around 25 percent and the plan is to increase it as per demand. Records of all the guests are being maintained along with temperature checks at the entrance. Hand sanitisers have been placed not just at the common points but at each table as well.
The normal menu card has been removed and now it is all based on QR code while cashless transactions are also being encouraged,” said Arnav Modi a partner at Mocha, Lalpur. Modi further stated that sanitation of the premises is being done every few hours. As for the staff safety gear has been provided while the food is being prepared as per the FSSAI guidelines. “Since the restaurant is in a shopping complex, the elevators are also being sanitized by the Mocha staff at regular intervals. Arogya Setu of the staff members is also being checked daily.” “The temperature of all the staff members and guests is being monitored regularly. If a visitor’s temperature is found to be above normal, we will deny entry to them with utmost politeness. To maximize social distancing the numbers of tables have been reduced to half in all outlets. To place an order each table has been assigned a QR code. For home delivery services, the chef’s and delivery boy’s temperature is mentioned on a card for customer satisfaction,” said Karanveer Bhatia owner of Kaveri Restaurants and Capitol Hotels.
