The city bus service in steel city has once again hit a hurdle. There were no takers for the rest three Groups A, B and D (routes have been categorised into groups). November 28 was the last date for submission of bids.
Sources in Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) informed that not a single party came forward for the rest three groups. “The tender forms were not sold and filing of submission of bids,” said a source in the urban civic body, which is looking after the city bus service in Jamshedpur.
Assistant engineer of JNAC, Vinod Kumar when contacted said , they have failed to get response from any bidders for the rest three groups. They will go for a re-tender. It will be a short tender.
Significantly, after a gap of over one year the city buses resumed operation last week
(November 25) in Kagalnagar (in Sonari) to different other destinations like Station, Telco, Bagunhatu and Mango. Altogether, 12 buses were introduced in the Group C routes. The tender for Group C was bagged by Raghvendra Pratap Singh, a local private party.
Group A comprises 10 buses. A private party is required to submit Rs70,000 as security money after getting the contract while Group B has 15 buses with private parties requiring to deposit 1,05,000 as security money. For Group D a private party is required to pay Rs91,000 as per the terms and conditions. The cost of tender forms has been fixed at Rs5,000.
JNAC officials said that a decision for re-tender will be taken in the next 2-3 days. “ We are optimistic that like Group C, private parties would definitely turn up for the rest three groups,” said an official.
