Choudhary is doing politics with State cricket: Praveen

The murky politics in the name of cricket being played in Jharkhand once again came out open with DIG of Special Task Force (STF) Praveen Kumar resigning from the post of SAI Cricket Coaching Centre, Dhurwa on Thursday alleging the hostile situation created by Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) president Amitabh Choudhary within this state cricket society.

The DIG said that Choudhary was trying his best to keep him and his team out from the state cricket body since May when both these members contested for election of JSCA President. According to Kumar, the internal politics is affecting the career of his 175 club children who were recently denied from participating in the district league matches. “Amitabh Choudhary is like my elder brother as he was my senior in the IPS cadre. But, he is destroying the democracy of this cricket body by including his favourite people in this cricket body,” said Kumar.

“I do not want to spoil the life of our club players. Unless I do not resign, the club children will not be allowed to play in the league matches. So, I am resigning. I have mentioned in my resignation letter that these children must not be stopped from playing because our administrative issues,” he added. The DIG mentioned that RDCA was doing these acts in a ghastly manner as it has already taken the entry fee of Rs 3000 each for two teams of SAI club. He has decided to reveal the confidential wrongful activities of RDCA and JSCA in January 2014.

After becoming the head of two cricket associations, Choudhary is said to expel three JSCA members namely Jeetu Patel, Sunil Kumar Singh and Vinit Kumar who have either fought with Praveen Kumar in the elections or have supported him.

“Most of the members in JSCA are not associated with cricket game. They have been nominated by the reference of Amitabh Choudhary. This is against the norms of cricket association. He should stop playing such politics,” said Sunil Kumar. Praveen Kumar has expressed his anger over the malpractices in AGM of latehar District Cricket Association (lDCA) where Amitabh Choudhary did not recognize the committee since Kumar was selected as President of lDCA.

Kumar has served in SAI Club Dhurwa for last two years wherein the players managed to reach quarter finals and semi finals of various district league matches. He said, “If Amitabh Choudhary requires my help I will certainly remove the wrongful activities happening in JSCA with my own effort.”

Several attempts to contact Choudhary over this issue remained futile.
