Chief Secretary RS Sharma held a meeting on May 11 at Project Bhavan to discuss preparations to be made in the State before the onset of monsoon. Sharma asked the authorities to stock grains before the monsoon starts. Sharma asked officials to repair roads in areas which become in accessible due to flood.
Sharma instructed Health Department to make arrangement of ORS bleaching powder and anti-malaria medicines. Sharma instructed the Irrigation department to complete the project of preventing land erosion before the monsoon starts.
Other issues which were discussed in the meeting were- problems of drinking water due to floods, disaster management & disseminating related information.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary DWSD, Sudhir Prasad, Principal Secretary Road Construction, Rajbala Verma, Principal Secretary Cooperative & Animal Husbandry, B.K.Tripathy, Secretary Disaster Management, Nilima Karketta and Secretary Agriculture & Sugarcane Development, Nitin Madan Kuklkarni and other senior officials of the departments.
