Chief Secretary RS Sharma attended a meeting organised by United Nations at United Nations Development of Economic & Social Affair & International Communications Union, on “e-participation: empowering people through Information technology” in Geneva Switzerland.
As one of the main speaker, Sharma gave detailed information on Aadhaar and said Aadhaar will add transparency to State’s activities besides providing relief to common man. Once fully implemented, common man will benefit more from Aadhaar, added Sharma.
Addressing the gathering, Sharma said Aadhaar is medium of one’s identification and it will be implemented as the only source for identifying people. However it will not bestow any rights or recognition, he said.
The CS also enlightened the gathering about the beneficiaries of Aadhaar and said poor people will get more benefit of Aadhaar because benefit will reach them directly.
