Addressing people on the occasion of inauguration of Shravani Khadi Mela 2017, Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma said the feeling of connecting with Khadi was inspiring. It was the symbol of patriotism, gallantry, sacrifice and self respect and hence, everyone should get connected with it, she added.
Verma said the demography of Jharkhand comprised of maximum number of youths. So the Government was skilling them and connecting them with self employment and rural industries. The Government had prepared Rs 700 crore budget for skill development in this financial year. Rural cottage industries were being boosted and women were connected with it. In order to eradicate poverty from the State, the economic conditions of the poor must be strengthened.
She suggested the Jharkhand Rajya Khadi and Gramodyog Board to make market for the artisans and make proper planning to train and provide capital to the artisans as the Government was ready to help the Board.
Addressing the programme, Chairman of Jharkhand Rajya Khadi and Gramodyog Board Sanjay Seth said the motto of the fair was to provide the artisans a good market to strengthen their economic condition. Very soon, the biggest Khadi Park of the nation will be made in Jharkhand creating employment opportunities for thousands of artisans and boost up the production of Tasar.
He said very soon the Board would open 23 loom centres across the State with 25 looms at each center.
The programme was inaugurated by Verma by lighting the lamp. As many as 50 stalls from different districts of the state have been installed in the fair which sell silk rakhi, Dokra art, khadi clothes, articles made from jute, decoration items and shravani clothes. This fair is held at Khadi Board premises at Ratu road from July 29 to August 6.
Members of Jharkhand State Khadi Board and Chamber of Commerce were present on this occasion.
