Chainpur police in Palamu recovered a charred body in the jungle of Chainpur Nawadeeh. The body appeared to be of any male whose identity has not been established. Confirming this, Chainpur police station SK Malviya said that the man was first killed with a gun and then set afire in the jungle. Asked if the body could be of any Naxal or if any Naxal outfit could be behind the crime, the police officer said, “It does not appear so as Naxals kill but do not bother to burn it.” The burning was done to cover the identity of the deceased. The occurrence was of last night itself, added Malviya.
