Chapter meet of NIPM & ISTD, Ranchi Chapter, held at Vichar Manch, Darbhanga House, CCl. The session was presided over by the Director (Personnel), CCl & President (NIPM & ISTD), Ranchi Chapter RS Mahapatro. A guest lecture was conducted by Dr Rajen Mehrotra, Former IlO Official on the topic “Impact of 4th Industrial Revolution on Industrial Relations”.
Director (Personnel) CCl and President of NIPM & ISTD, Ranchi Chapter in his speech welcomed the dignitaries and the members. He expressed his gratitude towards the speaker, Dr Rajen Mehrortra for coming down to Ranchi to enlighten the members of NIPM & ITSD on this contemporary topic. Mahapatro also gave a brief insight on the topic and its relevance in current scenario. He assured the gathering that NIPM & ISTD will continue to organize such interactive sessions.
During the session Dr Rajen Mehrotra had a detailed presentaion on “Impact of 4th Industrial Revolution on Industrial Relations”. He explained what actually is 4th industrial revolution is and how it is impacted by Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) and networking. He also briefed the audience on importance of social media and how it is a double edged sword. Finally, he elucidated on how trade unions and management both, can use it for their benefit. He presented various case studies from real world to explain the topic. The members found the session very interactive.
During the meet, U K Choubey, Ex- Director (P) Coal India, Dr Asit Mahapatro, Professor (IIM, Ranchi), G D Gulab, Ex- Director (P) MCl, N K Saxena Director (HR), HEC, also addressed the members. Member Officers from CCl, HEC, CMPDIl etc attended the session. The session was coordinated by Allan lakra and vote of thanks was given by Sunita Mehta, GM (P), CMPDIl.
