After the completion of the UPSC Civil services prelims exam, Chanakya IAS Academy Vice President Vinay Kumar Mishra said on Friday that one should do lots of writing practice for mains exam and should have a proper and in-depth knowledge of optional paper.

“Aspirants should choose optional subject very wisely for this exam because optional is very deciding in nature for selection in mains examination. Candidate can choose a optional by analysing few things like, first one has to see that the optional he/she is choosing should be in their comfort zone and they can think and write well in that subject, next is that they should see that which optional is highly scoring and books and materials are easily available for them in the market. Candidate should go through previous years papers to see their comfort level and interest in optional subjects,” he said.

Mishra told that while preparing, candidates should consult experts and get their answers analysed by experts to see that the answer is good or needs improvement.
