The Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) celebrated 'Jan Kalyan Parv' to mark one-year of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Government at the Centre with some strong rebuttal to the Congress' charges of failure in the course of one-year and elaborated Central Government's road map for Jharkhand in future as Modi's messenger, Union Minister Ananth Kumar announced a host of projects for Jharkhand.
Kumar outlined the National Democratic Alliance Government's vision for the State and informed the State BJP unit about Central Government's plans of industrialisation and proposals of medical services to poor at an affordable cost. Ananth Kumar, who is Minister of Chemical and Fertilisers also called for better utilisation of land available at Sindri. "The Central Government has decided to open a counter of generic medicine in all Government hospitals in sub-divisions for which we will provide Rs 2.5 lakh to all hospitals and we are ready to sign memorandum of understanding with Jharkhand Government," said Kumar.
The generic medicine counter will store close to 500 variants of generic medicines for different types of diseases and poor people will be given the medicine at a discount of 60 per cent on the maximum retail price, said Kumar at the function organised at the auditorium of Rejendra Institute of Medical Sciences. The Minister invited Chief Minister Raghubar Das and Health Minister Ramchandra Chandravanshi to Delhi in June to ink an MoU with the Central Government. Kumar also sung paeans to the PM and countered the Congress' 'look East policy' by stating that the BJP has adopted 'act East policy' reflected through his Ministry's ambitious chemical-based projects for East which incidentally also includes Rs 6000-crore revival plan for the closed urea unit of Fertiliser Corporation of India at Sindri. Kumar touted the decision as benefitting economy of eastern States of India.
"Eastern region requires about 45-lakh tonnes of urea whereas we will be producing 50-lakh tonnes (excluding production from two units) of urea. And after three years we will export urea to Bangladesh and Nepal," added Kumar. The Bangalore South MP issued strong rebuttal to the Congress' attempt to take the sheen away from the BJP's claim of glorious one-year. As the battery of Congress' leader tried to scoff at Modi's foreign visits and bilateral trade deals with several nations, Kumar valiantly defended the PM's itinerary with justification backed by proposed investments that foreign trip will bring besides, opening up newer avenues of employment for youngster of the country. Kumar took a dig at holiday of Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi after lok Sabha elections.
"Foreign visit of Narendra Modi will result in investment of Rs 7-lakh crore in the country which mean that around 30-lakh youths will get employment whereas in Congress' reign only one person was given job and that is Rahul Gandhi," maintained Kumar. As the Congress attempted to weaken the BJP's strongest point, Modi, the saffron party rallied behind in support and hit back with caustic remarks against the oldest political party laced with corruption cases in the 10-year rule of UPA. Chief Minister Raghubar Das eulogised Modi and his way to the post of PM as a victory democracy and a sign of mature voters.
"Dynastic politics was going on in this country and the mature voters of this country sidelined that to elect a tea-seller's son for the post of PM," Das said, adding "today those who forced farmers to commit suicide and left jobless youths to fend for themselves are criticising us. Narendra Modi has worked to fulfill people's aspirations".
Former Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Arjun Munda also justified PM's foreign visits with the benefits that the country would draw from the trip in future and also the impact on the image of the country as an emerging superpower. Munda said that the one year's rule has infused confidence in people and conveyed a message of confident India to the rest of the world.
"Those who never bothered about us are now knocking at our doors and extending hand of friendship towards us. This is the confidence which the country has shown to the rest of the world," added Munda. As the BJP celebrated 'Jan Kalyan Parv', State BJP president Ravindra Kumar Rai, Kanke MlA, Jitu Charan Ram and BJP MlAs graced the occasion with their presence.
