All India Congress Committee (AICC) national spokesperson Shakeel Ahmed has slammed the Union Government claiming that it has failed miserably to fulfil the expectations of the people during last three years in office.
On the day when Union Minister Nitin Gadkari was in the city to count the achievements of the Union Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Ahmed said at a press conference organised at Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) headquarters in Ranchi on Thursday that the Government at the Centre was symbol of false promises.
“From jobs to farm growth and from education policy to cultural ethos of the country, the BJP Government has failed miserably on every count in last three years and it has no right to celebrate after cheating on feelings of the countrymen,” said Ahmed where JPCC President Sukhdev Bhagat, JPCC Women wing President Abha Sinha, JPCC OBC wing Chairman Abhilash Sahu, and other office bearers and leaders were present.
Ahmed said that the demonetization alone had left over 3 crores of people jobless against Prime Minister Modi’s electoral claim of creating 2 crores of jobs annually. “IT sector specialists have claimed additional job erosion of around 2 crores. Moreover, this is the only government which has so far reflected additional ignorance over formation of education policy. The sad part of Modi Government is that the moment opposition tries to attract its focus over any issue, the Government goes either in denial mode, or changes the entire narrative by bringing out some totally different issue in between,” said Ahmed.
The party which also released a booklet containing failures of Modi Government from Rohit Vemula case to joblessness said that the government had not approached to any opposition party to discuss presidential candidature. “We have a long history of reaching out to consensus for presidential candidature. However, we have not been consulted yet even after declaration of election dates,” said Ahmed.
Meanwhile, as many as 60 BJP workers of Pandara area under Hatia assembly joined Congress on Thursday in Presence of senior leaders of party including Ahmed and Ex-Union Minister Subodh Kant sahay. At the same time, Women wing of the party burnt effigy of Modi in the evening.
