The JMM has accused the Central government that in this bad time of Coronavirus infection, the Central government has been giving step brotherly treatment to Jharkhand. Addressing a press conference on virtual mode JMM General Secretary cum State Spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya on Saturday defended Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s tweet and gave ‘details’ of how the Centre has been ignoring State’s demands.
“The State Government had demanded 4.5 crore vaccines from the Center, but the Center gave only 29,83,500 doses. The state had demanded 4,28,500 doses of Remdesivir injection, but was given only 29,534. As many as 5000 ventilators were sought, out of which only 300 were received. Also, 31 PSA plants were demanded, of which only 4 were approved. As many as 500 oxygen concentrators were sought, only 100 were given. At the same time 2600 oxygen cylinders were demanded, out of which only 400 were given. Medicines have also been cut. 475 files of Troxilixom were sought, out of which only 265 were received. At the same time, 41000 Fabibiflu have also not been found. 12000 Ivermectin were sought, but only 2,500 received. 1 lakh 30 thousand dexamethasone were demanded. That too have not been given,” said Bhattacharya.
The JMM General Secretary said that after the tweet of CM, the BJP leaders were shocked. “Many Union Ministers, some Chief Ministers and BJP MPs, MLAs jumped to PM’s rescue. CM had to do this tweet because the
Prime Minister only speaks his mind and does not listen to the State government. To deal with the corona infection, half of the facilities the State government asked for from the Center have not been provided. The state does not have a vaccine. This is the reason that the government is not able to give vaccines to people above 18 years of age,” he added.
“Why don't BJP leaders who turn a blind eye to CM's tweet ask the Center. What are the two MPs of Jharkhand, Arjun Munda and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi doing, sitting at the center? Why not keep the condition of Jharkhand in front of the Central government,” he asked.
Supriyo said that there are 20 MPs in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha from Jharkhand. As many 16 of them belong to BJP, but these people do not speak anything in Delhi.
He said that the BJP MLAs and MPs from Jharkhand should go to Delhi and explain the situation in Jharkhand and ask for help. JMM will arrange for a private chartered plane for them, he said, taking a dig at the BJP leaders.
