A two-member team of 20th Joint Review Mission under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) will reach the State for a five-day tour on Wednesday. According to education department officials the members will go through the minute efforts done in the field of SSA across the State in the past six months.

The team had last visited the State on August 2013. “Members of the mission are supposed to visit our State in every six months. This year it was postponed due to the lok Sabha elections in April. In 2013, they had inspected our works carried out in districts namely Ranchi, Hazaribag and Jamshedpur. This time we are willing to take them to Bokaro and Dhanbad as these districts are yet to be inspected in the present scenario,” said an education department official on Tuesday.

However, he pointed out on the preference of the team to inspect districts of their choice. “The visit is basically related to the quality improvement and technical progress in the field of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan,” added the official.

Notably, prior to the visit in districts the members are likely to have a detailed discussion with state project director Pooja Singhal over the ongoing efforts done regarding SSA on Wednesday.

Sources informed that the inspection has nothing to do with mid day meal activities done in the state. The Ministry of Human Resource Development mentions SSA as programme for universalisation of elementary education.

Education officers at Jharkhand Education Project Council and Secretariat were seen sharing documents on the issues of the upcoming meeting for Joint Review Mission on Tuesday.
