CCl to start Employment Centre, expand CCl Ke lal

Coal India subsidiary Central Coalfields limited (CCl) has said that it would launch an Employment Centre at its headquarters in Darbhanga House.  CCl Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Gopal Singh said this on monday while sharing achievements of the company during last calendar year that the proposed employment centre was aimed at providing jobs to ‘eligible’ hands primarily in other companies.

“The centre will not only give career guidance to eligible youth not only for CCl, but also for other companies as well. We are also expanding our initiative CCl Ke lal to Bharat Coking Coal limited (BCCl) areas also,” said Singh. He said that the company witnessed 21 per cent annual growth in coal production and 37 per cent dispatch on first day of New Year in comparison to January 1 last year.

This employment centre will not only guide the youths but also provide vocational training which will help them to secure job for themselves and will make them employable. CCl is already running one similar programme “Pahal” in which youths from rural Jharkhand are being trained and provided guidance for selection in armed forces.

Divulging ambitions of calendar year 2017 and Financial Year 2017-18, Singh said that the company was targeting 80 Million Tonnes of coal production in FY 2017-18 in comparison to 68 Million Tonnes in current FY. He also said that the company was aggressively working on making its command area ODF other than making BCCl and CCl cashless in FY 2017-18. “We want Jharkhand to remain well ahead of others in terms of Clean India and Cashless India,” said Singh.

Singh said that the CCl Ke lal, which was launched last year with 11 seats, will be expended to four new branches in BCCl area and three in CCl area with 50 seats each. Moreover, one additional branch so far with 11 seats would be extended to two.

“The good part under CCl Ke lal now onwards is that the upper income limit of Rs 6 lakh has been removed for all the students other than 22 students at two additional centres. That also, not only children of CCl employees, but also of any person now can take engineering coaching under CCl Ke lal.

We are doing all this under our New Year campaign called ‘Padosi Ko Khush Rahne do – Swayam Khush Rahoge… CCl Aapka Saath Dega’ which was decided today itself before the meeting,” said Singh.

Asked about safety and security arrangements in CCl Command areas, Singh said that the company followed three-layered security arrangements to keep mining areas safe for workers.

He said that the company had been conducting safety related meeting twice a month, so that any possible unfortunate situation could be avoided. Notably, at least 18 workers died in a massive sudden landslide in lalmatia Mine under Rajmahal opencast project of Eastern Coalfields limited (ECl) Godda last Thursday evening.
