A large number of students who scored less marks in CBSE class X and Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) XII results which were declared recently are on protest. On Wednesday morning a large number of parents along with their wards gathered at Crown Public School, Harmu protesting against several students getting less marks in CBSE examination.
The parents allege that many students who were topper in Class IX too have received 50 to 60 per cent marks. The parents allege that the school principal had asked students to clear all pending dues including fees and those students who had cleared all the pending dues during lockdown period have only received good marks.
The students also allege that those students who have not cleared their fees have received less marks, with many of them even failing in examination. However, the school principal refused to talk to parents stating that students have been given marks in the examination based on internal assessment. The parents became furious when the principal refused to meet them. Later a large number of police personnel were deployed outside the school premises. Due to students' protest the traffic on busy Birsa Rajpath (Harmu road) came to a standstill. The traffic was normalized only after police intervention.
While on one hand CBSE students are protesting against school administration, intermediate students staged a protest outside State Education minister Jagarnath Mahto. The students who failed in Class XII examination of Jharkhand Academic Council or got fewer marks are protesting.
According to students, results were prepared on the basis of class 11th results and they were declared failed or given fewer marks. A delegation of students' even met the minister and gave their memorandum regarding this.
Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) student's leader Ravi Kumar said, "The results declared by Jharkhand Academic Council should be re-evaluated. The students who study got fewer marks in comparison to those who study less based on the previous records. So this is not correct."
The students' outrage has come at the time when JAC results are much better than previous years. 86.89% students have been successful in intermediate Science, 90.33% in Commerce and 90.71% in Arts.
A Grievance Cell has been constituted by JAC to solve the problems of the result. Those candidates who are not satisfied with their result can register their complaint on grivancecell2021Jacexam2021 till 6th August. Students, teachers, parents, anyone can put their complaint here.
