A team of CBI's anti-corruption wing from Ranchi on Thursday arrested assistant superintendent of post office ( ASPO) Awadh Bihari Singh, while he was accepting Rs 50,000 as bribe at Chaibasa post office in West Singhbhum. The accused ASPO had demanded Rs 50,000 from a girl for providing her employment as compensation after her father Mahendra Gope died. Gope was an employee of the Chaibasa post office. The girl had lodged a complaint with the CBI (Anti-corruption Bureau). After arresting the ASPO, the CBI officials took him to Ranchi this evening.
