The agency further asked why they suspect involvement of a person Pankaj Kumar Mishra that he might have conspired to eliminate her. The CBI also questioned whether Rupa Tirkey wanted to marry her colleague Shiv Kumar Kanaujiya and whether it was true that the family was opposed to their marriage.

The CBI also questioned whether the family was pressurized and bribes offered to stay silent and don’t pressurize for the CBI probe.

To the questions of the CBI the family said that they are aware that she was murdered which was made to look like suicide.

The CBI had initially asked Devanand Oraon; father of the deceased, whether he can come to Sahebganj to help the CBI and to get questioned by the agency. But Oraon refused stating that it may not be safe for him to visit Sahebganj.

The CBI is investigating this case on the order of Jharkhand High Court. Oraon had filed a criminal writ at the high court stating that he doesn’t trust Jharkhand Police will carry an impartial investigation in this case.
