The State Cabinet gave its approval for setting up of a Medico City within the premises of Itki Sanatorium, located some 30 km from the State Capital on Ranchi-Gumla Road. The Cabinet on Wednesday approved a total of 10 proposals, including summoning the Budget Session of Jharkhand Assembly from February 15 to March 18.
“Ernst and Young Company have been appointed as transaction advisor whose primary job will be to identify 100 acres and prepare a blueprint to provide all infrastructural facilities for the purpose,” said Additional Chief Secretary, Cabinet, NN Pandey.
According to Pandey, the company will also prepare DPRs for the construction of separate buildings like medical college, super specialty hospital, pathological laboratory, diagnostic centre and other para-medical institutions on PPP mode inside the Sanatorium.
“In addition to that, Ernst and Young will also prepare terms and conditions for the setting up of institutions. It will help the State machineries in preparing tender documents, publication of tenders and also in financial and technical evaluation of the tenders,” Pandey added. It will also assist the Government in signing up the Memorandum of Understanding with the selected company, he said.
In another important proposal approved by the State Cabinet, the Budget Session of Jharkhand Assembly will be summoned from February 15 to March 18, said Pandey.
In a bid to check the dominance of middlemen in the marketing of minor forest produces, the Cabinet on Wednesday also approved a new Kendu Patta Policy where various societies of gatherers will be formed and registered so that they could be made self reliant.
“The new Jharkhand State Kendu Patta Policy intends to minimise the involvement of middlemen from the business and providing proper wages for their work so that their interest could be protected by increasing their income,” said the Additional Chief Secretary. According to the policy, efforts have also to be made so that the benefit of marketing must reach to the collectors and Kendu Patta Committees.
