Demanding its share in the grant of Rs 183 crore to Jharkhand State Cricket Association by Board of Cricket Control of India (BCCI) for the development of cricket in the State, Cricket Association of Bihar (CAB) alleging massive misappropriation of funds, has insisted an impartial probe into the matter by forming a special investigation team by the State Government.

CAB secretary Aditya Verma, talking to mediapersons in Ranchi on Thursday cited recommendations of Justice lodha Committee and claimed that most of the JSCA officials including its president Amitabh Chaudhary will have to quit or they will have to face contempt of court charges.

“During the hearing of PIl, the Supreme Court has asked BCCI secretary to file an affidavit having all details regarding the grants given to the state cricket associations in the country. You will be surprised to know that the state cricket associations across

the country have received more than Rs 6,000 crore in the last five years that too without any auditing,” said Verma. JSCA too, has been given Rs 183 crore by the BCCI in the name of development of cricket in the State, he said.

Verma alleged the JSCA president and his team of misappropriating the funds released by BCCI for the development of cricket in the State and demanded special investigation team (SIT) by the State Government to look into the matter.

“I have also given a representation to Justice lodha demanding an impartial enquiry into the matter so that the culprits could be put behind the bars,” Verma said.

The CAB Secretary also alleged that there has been misappropriation of funds released by the BCCI for the construction of JSCA Stadium in Ranchi for which the hearing was pending the Jharkhand High Court on August 19.

Verma further claimed that under one state one vote policy, there is a doubt whether the existence of JSCA will continue or not.

“As per the recommendations of the Justice lodha Committee, any official of State cricket association or BCCI, who has completed 9 years on a post, will have to quit. Those who do not quit will have to face contempt of court. If we talk in the perspectives of Jharkhand, every top official, including JSCA president Amitabh Chaudhary and Secretary Rajesh Verma, have completed more than nine years in office,” said Verma.

“The JSCA president has been sitting on the post for the last 15 years, secretary Rajesh Verma for the last 10 years and vice-president Sanjay Singh for the last nine years. Vice president Manoj Kumar too, has been holding the post for the second consecutive term,” he said.
