A 28-year-old woman Surbhi Jaiswal succumbed to burn injuries at Tata Main Hospital's burn care unit on Friday. After registering a case of dowry death with the Chakradharpur police station in West Singhbhum district after an FIR lodged by Surbhi's father Santosh Jaiswal, the police have decided to arrest the deceased's husband and mother-in-law.
The police have decided to arrest the husband Ashish Jaiswal and mother Ganga Jaiswal despite the deceased had claimed in her dying statement that she sustained burns while carrying household work.
Ashish who is a businessman at Chakradharpur is also admitted at the Tata Main Hospital's burn care unit with the burns he had sustained while trying to save his wife on August 30 evening.
